VET Toolbox hackathon

Here icon On 23-24 May 2019 the VET Toolbox hosted a hackathon in Brussels. 

A two-day out-of-the-box event bringing together (un)usual suspects to tackle challenges on inclusion and public-private collaboration in vocational education and training.

TRACK 1: INCLUSION IN VET

Challenge 1.1

How can we increase access and continuous enrolment to VET courses and programmes for persons from vulnerable groups and ensure completion and graduation from the VET with a focus on preparing them for an occupational field.

TEAM 7: STEP UP!

Team 7

Solution: Promotion of a voucher system via a credit card for youth living in slums enabling them to use this credit card for participating in skills development courses, cultural and sports activities as well as access to coaching and mentoring.

TEAM 8: DIVERSITY

Team 8

Solution: Online global network of TVET inclusion experts and practitioners + artificial intelligence algorithm matches needs and solutions/best practices worldwide.

How can we increase the inclusiveness of the labour market in order to guarantee VET learners from vulnerable groups equal access, equal opportunities and respond to their needs?

TEAM 5: IRENE'S DREAM JOB...

Irene's dream job

Solution: Communication & education package

  1. Mobile application to translate into sign language/text into and to read out text to instructor/team
  2. Mentor: skilled, wise, retired supervisor working for Irene and to mediate with the team
  3. Master trainer to give Irene tasks for 2 mobile application for translation + practical skills and supervise her work

Solution: Sanjeou will push bounsaries and develop on innovative employer led approach to partnership with TVET providers and civil society - specially disability groups

How can we strengthen the participation of the Private Sector in Vocational Education and Training through the development of innovative solutions and business models; and  improve the match of demand & supply of professional skills.

Solution:
Online platform to connect firms in a dialogue to develop industry 4.0 standards and a market place for training in industry 4.0.
